Minto Anice Trotter (Aunty Minty) Minty was the 7th child and fifth daughter of the Alex and Annie Trotter family. She was born on the 4.1.1894 and died on 17.1.1977 aged 83. At age 30 on the 16.4.1924 Minty married Nathaniel Hamilton at the Trotter farmhouse, "The Pines" Sandspit Road, Warkworth . The Best Man was James (Jimmy)Holden and the Bridesmaids Ivy Trotter and Melba Heard. The officiating Methodist minister was H Thornley.Nat and Minty had two children, Melva Anice, and Raymond. The family lived at their farm at the end of Hamilton's Road by the Mahaurangi River. Besides farming Nat was the Matakana Riding member on the Rodney County Council for a number of years and also Chairman of local Farming related companys. The family were interested in boating and fishing and Nat was first chairman of the Sandspit Boating Club and the first Harbourmaster at the Sandspit, Kawau Landing Boat Harbour. Grandsons Neil and Andrew farm parts of the original farm property today. |
