Lizzie Adelia Trotter (Aunty Dell)

Adelia was the fifth child and third daughter of the Alex and Annie Trotter family.  She was born on the 29.12.1889 and died on the 1.9.1957. age 67.  Adelia married George Heard at the Trotter farmhouse, Sandspit Road, Warkworth on the 23.3.1920.  The Best Man was James (Jim) Trotter and  Bridesmaid was Ivy Trotter.  The officiating Minister was Herbert Arthur Gould.

George, a widower, had originally come to the district to work as a Forman at the Wilsons Portland Cement Works which operated across the Mahaurangi River at the back of the farm.  He brought to the new  family his six year old daughter Melba and her brother.

Four months later Adelia's father Alex died, on the 29th July.  When her Mother Annie died 19.3.1933 Adelia inherited the homestead farm "The Pines" originally lot 2 of Solway Farm.  Melba married Ray Adolph. They had three children, Peter, David and Ann and today the property is farmed by Peter, Bev and family.
